The first Workshop date is  Sunday 9th June, 10 am until 4 .30pm  The venue for the workshop is The Station in Richmond.  A great place for workshops as it's easily accessible and has a lift up to the workshop space.  There is plenty of parking and access to a lovely cafe, but I'll also be bringing  tea, coffee and cake, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch too if you prefer.  You can find out more about the venue on their website here:

Come along to a full day workshop on applique and free-machine embroidery and learn all about the techniques I use in my work.

During the first half of the session, I will introduce you to the basics of machine applique and free-machine embroidery, as well as a few tips on how to make the most of the patterns on your sewing machine.

After getting to grips with these basics in the morning, we will be making a finished piece. This will be in the form of a small 15 cm or 20 cm diameter lampshade,  or a stand-alone embroidery which we will stretch for you to frame. A beginner may find it difficult to finish a lampshade in the time given, however I will be giving out information on how to finish off at home.

I love to share my passion for all things textiles, particularly composition, fabric selection, free-machine embroidery and applique.   I will have many different samples, fabrics and examples of my own finished work to help inspire you on the day!

All materials are included, you just need to bring your sewing machine, which must be in good working order, embroidery or darning foot for your machine and threads.  I will provide all fabric and lampshade kit or frame, but if you want to bring your own fabric that’s fine.

The workshop is pre-pay only, please go to my shop to pay for your space. A full refund will be given if you cancel your place by the 27th May 2019. If you find you are unable to attend after this date you will be entitled to 50% of the fee back, if I can fill your place. Places are limited to 8 people .
